LEADING NATIONAL BUSINESS GROUP, NFIB, ENDORSES BUSINESSMAN BOB COHEN FOR STATE SENATE

“Bob Cohen exemplifies the type of leader small businesses and taxpayers need in the senate” — Opponent Nets Worst Rating in Westchester on Small Business Issues

Westchester, NY-September 27, 2012…One of the nation’s leading small business organizations, the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB), today endorsed small business owner Bob Cohen for state senate in the 37th district. Mr. Cohen’s opponent, Assemblyman George Latimer (D-WFP), recently received a 17% (out of 100) on his legislative scorecard from the group, making him the worst legislator (tied for worst) in Westchester on issues facing small businesses. Retiring state senator Suzi Oppenheimer (D) in contrast scored a 60% on the NFIB scorecard.

“Bob Cohen exemplifies the type of leader small business and taxpayers need in the state senate,” said NFIB/New York State Director Mike Durant. “Bob will be a strong voice for lower taxes and for lessening New York’s crushing regulatory burden. I am confident that Bob Cohen will work tirelessly in the senate to push for the needed and necessary reforms to grow small business and jobs in New York.”

“I am honored to be endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Businesses,” said Mr. Cohen. “As a small business owner, I have an intimate understanding of how the state’s harmful policies have created an unfriendly business climate that has driven jobs to more competitive states. I look forward to taking my business experience to Albany to enact pro-growth policies that will help small businesses do what they do best: create jobs.”
