NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle freshman swimmer Claudia Benitez (White Plains, NY/White Plains HS) has been name the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Swimming Rookie of the Week, it was announced recently by the conference office.
In her first collegiate meet, Benitez earned the second most points for the Blue Angels in their season-opener against Notre Dame of Maryland University. Individually, she collected second place finishes in the 200 breaststroke (3:29.00), 100 breaststroke (1:35.14) and third place in the 200 IM (3:20.93).
