NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Due to delays caused by the storm, the next Community Meeting for the 325th Anniversary Committee has been rescheduled from Thursday, November 15 to Tuesday, November 27 at 7PM at City Hall, 515 North Avenue. Committee leaders will give a planning update and detail the events and opportunities for the coming year. All welcome!
In preparation for the City of New Rochelle’s upcoming anniversary celebration, the 325th Anniversary Committee is actively seeking sponsorships from businesses, organizations and individuals to support the exciting programs and initiatives planned in recognition of our founding in 1688 and our vibrant history. Sponsorships are available on a variety of levels and today the committee is pleased to announce the pledged support of United Water of New Rochelle as a “Huguenot” level sponsor and Sound Shore Medical Center as a “New Rochelle” level sponsor.
“Sponsorships not only help ensure the success of the celebration but will highlight our many partnerships throughout the community,” noted Committee Chair Marianne Sussman. “Becoming a sponsor lets businesses, clubs and civic organizations demonstrate their support for New Rochelle. We are so grateful to United Water and Sound Shore Medical Center for their support, and welcome them as the first of many more!”
“United Water has been serving New Rochelle since 1885,” said Chris Graziano, Director of Operations for United Water New Rochelle. “It’s been our privilege to be part of the City’s growth and development by providing safe and reliable water service. We’re also delighted to support the City’s 325th anniversary celebration.”
John Spicer, President and CEO of Sound Shore Medical Center said, “As always, Sound Shore Medical Center is pleased to partner with the City of New Rochelle as we celebrate the 325th Anniversary. For more than 120 years, Sound Shore Medical Center has had the honor to serve our community, whose rich traditions and cultures make us the dynamic and vital suburban city we are today.”
City-wide celebrations for the 325th Anniversary will include an Opening Ceremony at City Hall, Dinner Dance, “Kite Day” at Davenport Park, a “Celebrity Homecoming Variety Show”, and much more. The goal of these events is to bring the people of New Rochelle together to celebrate the history of the city we all call home. Sponsor logos and/or names will become prominently noted on all printed materials, including ads in the Commemorative Journal and Dinner Dance Program Journal.
Included in the sponsorship packages, and also available individually, are colorful banners that will soon begin to fly from lampposts down North Avenue and throughout the city in advance of the Thanksgiving Parade on
November 17 and will continue to be available well into 2013. These sturdy vinyl banners are available for $325 each or 5 for $1,000. The early bird discount price of $250 that was formerly available for orders placed by Monday, October 29th has been extended to December 31. Order forms are available online from the city’s website, www.newrochelleny.com/325 , by calling 654-2159 or emailing 325@newrochelleny.com .
