NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Albert Leonard Middle School will host a Parent Workshop on December 17th featuring Learning Channel Organizational Coach Leslie Josel. The workshop is open to all middle school parents.
The ALMS presentation entitled “It’s 10:00PM: Don’t You Have Homework to Do?” will be aimed at middle school parents struggling to understand executive dysfunction in students.
The workshop will take place from 7:00-8:30 PM at the Albert Leonard Middle School Library at 25 Gerada Lane in New Rochelle, NY.
The event is facilitated by Camille Edwards-Thomas, School Community Facilitator for the New Rochelle Board of Education. The event is offered at no charge but space is limited. To pre-register for the workshop call (914)576-4233 or email cedwardsthomas@nred.org.
Leslie Josel is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), its Student Special Interest Group and has received its Golden Circle distinction. She received her ADHD and Hoarding Specialist certifications from the Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD). She is the only certified hoarding specialist in Westchester County and Connecticut. Leslie serves as the district liaison for her school’s SEPTA (Special Education Parent-Teacher Association), is the Special Needs Columnist for the White Plains edition of Examiner.com, and teaches organizational classes to parents, students and teachers nationally.
In the fall of 2011, Leslie launched her first product, an Academic Planner, as a tool to teach time management to students. The planner was a finalist in Wal-Mart’s “Get on the Shelf” contest and was voted the #1 planner for 2012’s back-to-school by Family Circle magazine. Leslie’s first E-book will be published this winter. Entitled “It’s 10:00PM: Have You Done Your Homework Yet?”, it’s a guide to teach teens time management.
Known nationally as an expert on chronic disorganization and hoarding issues, Leslie has appeared on several episodes of TLC’s hit television show, “Hoarding: Buried Alive” as their organizational expert, the Cooking Channel’s television special, “Stuffed: Food Hoarders”, and other national television and radio shows.
She is frequently quoted in mainstream news media such as MORE Magazine, ADDitude Magazine, New York’s Daily News, and many other print media. In addition, Leslie is co-authoring a “Diabetes Organizer” to be published in September 2013. Leslie speaks and teaches nationally on organizational issues, special needs students and women’s entrepreneurship as well as coaches other small business entrepreneurs.
Leslie Josel lives in Larchmont, New York with her husband Wayne and their two children, who help her hone her organizing skills every day.
