The “Dynamic Dozen” JV and Varsity cheer teams along with New Rochelle’s top coaching staff and alumni are coming home to New Rochelle National Champions for 2013. This is the first time ever in the history of New Ro Cheerleading that NRHS’s Junior Varsity (JV) team and New Ro Varsity’s team have ever won Nationals. New Rochelle is unbelievably proud of their historical achievement. New Rochelle High School cheerleading squads are top in the nation and have been competing annually at the UCA National Cheerleading Competition in Orlando Florida. This year marks years of hard work, dedication, athleticism and drive. New Rochelle High School Cheerleading’s Varsity and Junior Varsity Teams can now claim the name UCA National Champions. That means, New Rochelle is number one out of the hundreds of teams that compete in the country.  New Ro Cheer and their Purple Pride are a  force to be reckoned with and we look forward to welcoming them back home later in the week. This year the NR Jr. High School Modified team placed 6th in the nation, another great accomplishment for New Rochelle and our placement in the world of cheerleading. We will be arranging a photo-op and story follow up later this week. In the mean time look for our two teams proudly wearing their White UCA National Champions Jackets and loving every second of their win. To wear those jackets is everything that they dream to achieve. Pictured above is New Rochelle’s JV Team just after making history for NRHS Cheerleading and below are coaches Elaina Edwards and EJ Vitez. and the Junior Varsity Team’s UCA National Champions Trophy.
