NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Former New Rochelle High School librarian Marisa Anton was sentenced today by Judge Susan Cacace as part of a plea deal.
Anton received three years probation after pleading guilty to one county of endangering the welfare of a minor.
As part of her plea she had to surrender her teaching license. She will not be required to register as a sex offender.
In December, Anton, 33, of Yonkers, plead guilty to endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. She had previously been charged with disseminating indecent material to minors, a felony.
Anton, a female librarian at New Rochelle high school, was arrested on May 31, 2012 by New Rochelle Police after going to meet a 16-year old male youth for what she believed would be a sexual encounter. At the time of her arrest she was found to be carrying condoms in her pursue.

So she gets 3 years probation and doesn’t have to register as a sex offender?
Yes I am going there…would the same have been done for a male teacher? I hope not but this is another example of why it gets harder and harder for young people to respect grownups. There is no justice in this story.
Also, this woman never appears to be remorseful. Her attitude as she exits the court house tells a lot about how she and the people around her think she did nothing wrong.
Whoever came up with this deal should be ashamed of themselves. A sexual predator is just that.
