3-22 Jefferson Elementary Tigers v. Harlem Wizards In Community Fundraising Event

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Friday, March, 22 2013 at 7p.m. the Jefferson Elementary PTA will host a basketball fundraising event featuring the Harlem Wizards at New Rochelle High School.

During an exciting evening of “trick hoops” and “alley oops” spectators will get the opportunity to watch community leaders, Administration, faculty, family and friends, put their skills on the court to the test as they take on the Harlem Wizards. Proceeds from the event will be used to support programs, activities and materials for the students of Jefferson Elementary School.

The mission of Jefferson Elementary School and PTA is to work together as a team to promote and enhance the educational development of every member of the Jefferson Community. This event will help to foster the importance of this partnership and provide an entertaining evening of family fun and community building.

Former New Rochelle High School Basketball Stars from the early 1990s Rashaun and Rashiem Young will be returning to the courts as guest players. The Young brothers are currently the coaches for the New Rochelle Hugenots who are having a phenomenal record-breaking basketball season. For several years these dynamic brothers have also joined forces to organize and fund the New Roc Basketball Classic, which is a six week league which includes three age divisions for kids under 14 years old from Westchester, Harlem and the Bronx.

Since 1962 the Harlem Wizards have been combining amazing basketball talent with hilarious comedic acts for schools, charitable organizations, and foundations across the world. The evening will be filled with ball-handling tricks, wild dunks, fancy team work, an interactive half-time show with the kids and a post game autograph session.
