Deerpark Town Board to Raise Gadsden Flag at Town Hall Monday

Written By: Robert Cox

(HUGUENOT, NY) – Deerpark Town Supervisor Karl A. Brabenec, Orange County Legislator Dennis W. Simmons and the members of the Deerpark Town Board will be holding a news conference and ceremony on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 12:00 PM in front of Deerpark Town Hall to raise the historic Gadsden “Don’t Tread On Me” Flag on the town’s flag pole.

The news conference and raising ceremony of the flag is in response to the New Rochelle City Council voting to remove the historic flag from the New Rochelle Armory. The yellow Gadsden flag featuring a coiled snake and the phrase, “Don’t Tread On Me” is steeped in U.S. history dating back to its founding. It has been used by Marines and the Navy since 1775 and is often flown at Marine Corp bases and on Navy warships.

Deerpark Town Hall is located at 420 US Route 209, Huguenot, New York 12746.

For more information on the news conference or directions to town hall, please contact Deerpark Supervisor Karl A. Brabenec at 845-742-5131

  1. Deer park
I am proud of this move by Derrpark. New Rochelle city council democrats could learn some lessons from them about American honor and pride. They make many of us ashamed of living in this city. Shame on those 5 morons. The fight will continue for sure.

  2. Censorship FAIL
This totally backfired on them and deservedly so! It could come back to bite the mayor in the rear when it comes to county elections. Jared Rice made a big misstep in making this an issue in the first place.
