NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Trinity Elementary School is on lockdown/lockout, according to sources at the school.
UPDATE 2:28 PM: Incident is over. It was brief. School was on lockout due to police activity in the area. No one entered or attempted to enter the school.
UPDATE: 3:30 PM: A letter was sent home to parents.
Dear Parents:
This letter is to inform you that we went into a “lockout” drill that was ordered by the New Rochelle Police Department; it appears that they had been given a report that there may have been a “suspicious person” close the school proximity.
Trinity followed the “lockout” procedures and school continued in a normal manner. The drill lasted for approximately an hour.
All students and staff followed the procedures put in place. The students did a great job following directions and procedures.
We thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Anthony DiCarlo
Principal
It is worth noting that this is the second incident in the past two weeks and in both cases the two elementary schools (Jefferson, Trinity) followed protocol and ran it correctly. Isaac not so much. Progress. Not Perfection.
