NEW ROCHELLE, NY — One of New Rochelle Public Library’s most popular series, International Music and Dance performances bring the sounds and movements of global cultures to New Rochelle this summer, thrilling and delighting all ages. The 30th season of the free performances runs six Tuesday evenings, beginning July 2nd with a truly “Red, White & Blue” Americana performance by the acclaimed band, Too Blue – Original Bluegrass & Swing. All performances begin at 7:00 pm, and seating is on a first-come/first-served basis, to the capacity of the library’s 138-seat Ossie Davis Theater. Doors open at 6:45 pm.
Blending bluegrass, jazz, swing and Celtic music, acoustic quartet Too Blue delivers an adventurous performance filled with soaring harmonies and catchy finger-pickin’. Hailing from New York and Connecticut, members Betsy Rome (guitar), Joan Harrison (banjo), Michael Sassano (mandolin) and Jamie Doris (bass) bring a large dose of musical fun and virtuosity to songs ranging from Patsy Cline to Bill Monroe to their own compositions.
