07/16 Russian Music And Dance Featured At The New Rochelle Public Library

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The vibrant music, dance and costumes of Russia will be showcased on Tuesday, July 16th at the New Rochelle Public Library, as the third program in its popular International Music and Dance series. The Russian ensemble of Barynya will perform a spirited sampler of traditional Russian, Cossack, Ukrainian, Russian Jewish, and Russian Gypsy dance, music and song that engages all ages. Mikhail Smirnov, founder of the internationally renowned group, provides the brief explanations and will invite audience members to join in the action.

The free show begins at 7:00 pm in the library’s air-conditioned Ossie Davis Theater, and is appropriate for all ages. Seating is on a first-come/first-served basis, to the capacity of the library’s 138-seat Ossie Davis Theater. Doors open at 6:45 pm.
