Since I became active in public life in New Rochelle about 20 years ago, I’m always impressed with the commitment of so many people involved in our city’s civic groups. On Wednesday night, June 26, I visited two of them:
New Rochelle Bar Association Annual BBQ at 5 Island Parks
I’ve been a member of the New Rochelle Bar for about 17 years and always look forward to the annual BBQ. The New Rochelle Bar is an excellent group of attorneys, and its leadership is always committed to the legal profession and our community. See my photo with outgoing New Rochelle Bar president Laurie Korngold, incoming president Richard Sosis, and Assemblywoman Amy Paulin. At the BBQ, we heard about an outstanding program where members of the New Rochelle Bar go into New Rochelle schools to teach kids about the law. This bar association is known by its members as the "Best Bar Association in the World."
New Rochelle Rotary Club Annual Dinner
In the photos from the New Rochelle Rotary Dinner, I’m honoring Ray Beninato and Frank Dursi, and I also honored Donna Rabin (her photo didn’t come out because I let my accountant take it…LOL). I have a soft spot in my heart for the Rotary Club because my dad was a member of the Larchmont Rotary and loved it. I happen to be a New Rochelle Lion, but I appreciate the fine work of the New Rochelle Rotary. They also seem to have a lot of fun when providing service to the community. The Rotary motto is "Service Above Self."
