WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman Eliot Engel (D-NY-16), the Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, was invited by U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew (a Riverdale resident) to present World Bank President Jim Kim with a Developmental Impact Award at the Treasury Department in Washington on Thursday. The World Bank earned this award for their work in assisting Haiti following the January 2010 earthquake which killed over 230,000 people and destroyed over 100,000 homes and businesses.
