NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Since 1929, the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle has enjoyed support from companies of all sizes as it provides high quality programs and support to children age 6 to 18 within the community. These corporations have invested in the Club and its core programs which include Healthy Habits; Career Launch; Diplomas 2 Degrees; SMART Girls and Passport To Manhood. The Club’s programs are designed to promote Character and Leadership Development; Education and Career Development; Health and Life Skills; the Arts; and Sports, Fitness and Recreation. But more important, the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle strives to offer each child the best possible start in life by offering opportunities and experiences they might not otherwise encounter.
On Tuesday, October 15, 2013 New Rochelle resident and Awisco President Lloyd Robinson will be recognized as Corporate Community Leader by the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle. This recognition will take place during the organization’s 51st Annual Golf Outing Dinner Reception at Wykagyl Country Club. This award is presented to Robinson and his company (Awisco) for their commitment to the community and steadfast support of youth development. Robinson and his wife Barbara are the parents of two current Club members. The family has been longtime supporters of the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle’s mission and message. Whether making monetary donations to benefit programs, needed facility improvements and general operations or strategizing with Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle senior staff about the feasibility of implementing a flag football program for children under the age of 10, the Robinson family is always on hand to support the organization and those children it serves each day.
“I can’t think of a corporate leader more deserving of this recognition,” says Quay Watkins, Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle Executive Director. “Lloyd is a shining example of the sort of corporate supporters that have enabled the Club to thrive and grow since its founding over 80 years ago!” “Individuals like him serve on our board of directors, event committees like BE Great and the 51st Annual Golf Outing. They also generously offer their time and talents to mentor our kids. Without their support none of what we do is possible. Words can’t express the gratitude we have for people like Lloyd that support the 2,000 children we serve locally.”
The Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle’s 51st Annual Golf Outing is co-chaired by Mr. Bruce Daniele and Mr. John J. McCarthy, longtime supporters of the organization. This year’s outing offers a barbeque style luncheon, 12 pm shotgun start, gift for each participating golfer and dinner reception complete with award presentations for top golfers. Individual tickets are $450 and a foursome is $1,800. A limited number of sponsorship opportunities and journal advertising options are available for purchase by calling the Club’s Development Department at (914) 235-3736.
