A 9/11 Remembrance Service and Candlelight Vigil will be held on September 11th 2013, sponsored by the United Veterans Memorial and Patriotic Association, under charter from the City of New Rochelle. The Service will be hosted at the NR American Legion Hall Post 8, located at 112 North Avenue, New Rochelle on Wednesday starting at 7:30 PM. Doors will be open at 7:00PM.
Join us as “We Remember” our fallen brothers and sisters. The candlelight vigil will be an evening of healing, and remembrance through an Interfaith Prayer Service & patriotic songs. The UVMPA of New Rochelle will continue to proudly respect those lost and the impact the attacks had on all of us.
New Rochelle, in particular the New Rochelle Armory Building, was of significant importance to 9/11 as it was used as a staging area for service to Ground Zero during the days that followed the attack on America. New Rochelle history.
