RIP To A Mr. New Rochelle – Glasglow Lee
Glasglow was the steward of the Remington Branch Boys & Girls Club.
He heard the practice and perfection of the Drum and Bugle Corps
and the internationally renowned Charles W. Dickerson Marching Band.
What remains interesting about Glasglow
is
that he not only greeted us at the club but applauded us
when parents were not there.
He quietly knew what we all individually were capable
of in practice and performance without judgments.
Some say he was like a dad, uncle, granddad, older brother in kind
Contribution to our lives.
He heard and watched the generational
parties, weddings, family reunions, MLK breakfasts, community programs, afterschool tutorials
basketball games and cheerleading
for more than 40 years.
This shadow of light is at the
heart of something unshakeable for most of us.
He is a New Rochelle lesson of quiet strength, humble presence,
simple provision and extraordinary care.
May a passionate
military Taps
and a
majestic and rich Canadian Sunset
ring from fine brass in the ole New Rochelle traditions
in harmony with the love and gratitude
of our entire community
on the highway that Glasglow now walks.
His job was well done and is deserving
of the presence and beloved arms of almighty God
to rest in eternal peace.
