Con Edison Announces iPhone and Android Apps to Report Power Problems One Year After Super Storm Sandy

Con Edison release the following statement:

It’s been a year since Superstorm Sandy ravaged our community. We’re not just rebuilding – we’re building smarter, stronger, and more sustainably. It’s all part of our $1 billion plan to fortify critical infrastructure and protect New Yorkers from the next Storm of the Century.

Overhead equipment is now tougher and more resilient. Substations have new walls and raised equipment. We are reinforcing and building new concrete entrances around our gas and steam tunnels.

We’re also working to keep you informed. We’ve introduced a new, free iPhone and Android app, My conEdison, so customers can report power problems, check status, and view our interactive outage map. We’re also offering text messages for outage updates and safety tips.
