GETTING RESULTS: Bramson Apologizes for Conduct Last Week, Accepts Motion to Table Echo Bay Until 2014

Written By: Robert Cox

New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson apologized today at the outset of the first City Council meeting since he set off a wave of outbursts and recriminations with a controversial attempt to move forward discussion of Forest City’s proposed Echo Bay development.

Saying “frustration got the better of me”, Bramson expressed regret for what took place last week. Bramson also directed a personal apology to Council Member Shari Rackman.

Bramson continues, stating he was withdrawing his controversial motion from last week and accepted that further discussion and votes on Echo Bay were tabled until January, 2014.

Talk of the Sound had previously called on the Mayor to make just such an apology.

We commend the Mayor for his remarks.

  1. I applaud Noam Bramson for his apology
I applaud Noam Bramson for his apology to the City Council and to Shari Rackman.

After his long bruising campaign, it is understandable that Noam was frustrated and exhausted. He did the decent thing with his public mea culpa yesterday, something few politicians are capable of. I believe his apology was heartfelt and meaningful. Thank you, Noam, for doing the right thing.

  2. Big deal. He apologized
Big deal. He apologized because he knows he has to smooth things over with Rackman and Hayden if he is going to push this nightmare through.
