Noam Bramson Owes An Apology…To Everyone

Written By: Robert Cox

NoamBramson.jpgUnder the City Charter, Mayor Noam Bramson is the head of the City government for all ceremonial purposes, responsible to preside over the City Council and represent the City in intergovernmental relationships. Therefore he has a special obligation to comport himself in a manner befitting his office.

Whether you support Noam or not, whether you support the proposed Echo Bay development or not, reasonable people can agree that Noam behaved badly last week and, in doing so, embarrassed himself, the City Council and government staff and the people he was elected to represent.

When a majority of the other Council Members describe the Mayor, acting in his official capacity, as having engaged in bullying tactics to get his way on a vote, a vote he had already lost, the matter must be addressed and done so forthrightly and in public.

Talk of the Sound is calling on Noam Bramson to make the first order of business at today’s City Council meeting a public, on camera, apology.

His apology should be directed at Council Members Shari Rackman and Ivar Hyden, the City Council as a body, all those present last Tuesday and the people of New Rochelle.

  1. You’re absolutely right
Yes, the mayor owes an apology to all. However, in his eyes, he did nothing wrong. He is the center of his universe……a classic symptom of Narcissistic Personality Syndrome (as I’ve mentioned before).

I believe he is unable to distinguish right from wrong; and, it is impossible for him to accept any other points of view.

We can only hope that he is able to mellow out over the next two years.
