NewImageNEW ROCHELLE, NY — Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, as part of the Superintendent Search process has provided the following link for community and staff members to participate in a Superintendent Profile Survey. This survey can be completed whether or not you attend a focus group session.

The survey consists of just three questions.

All stakeholders in the community — Administrators, Community Members without children in the district, Faculty, Parents, Support Staff and Students – are strongly encouraged to complete the survey

The survey will close on January 24, 2014.

The HYA consultants repeatedly stressed that the most critical input is the “additional comments” section, a free-form text response.

Survey-takers will be asked to “add any additional comments you wish to make regarding what you believe are necessary characteristics for a superintendent.

HYA conducted a similar series of input sessions/focus groups and an online survey for the Parsippany-Troy Hills School District and produced a Leadership Profile Report that was submitted to the Board of Education to consider in developing the job specifications for the position of Superintendent and as a factor in their decision-making. At the input sessions on Saturday several board members (David Lacher, Valerie Orellana, Rachel Relkin, Pam Davis and Jeffrey Hastie) stated that they would factor in the input received in the Leadership Profile Report.

New Rochelle stakeholders would be well-advised to review the HYA Leadership Profile Report submitted to the Parsippany-Troy Hills Board of Education to get a sense of how the input provided during the New Rochelle input process will be presented to board members:

Parsippany-Troy Hills School District Leadership Profile Report (10/29/2013)

EDITOR’S NOTE: The New Rochelle Board of Education was asked last week (by me, during the public comment period) whether they intended to make public the New Rochelle School District Leadership Profile Report. At the time, Board President David Lacher “punted” on that question. Mr. Lacher might consider the example of the Parsippany-Troy Hills School District in this regard and commit publicly to publishing the New Rochelle School District Leadership Profile Report on the nred.org web site.
