A fire broke out at 247 Drake Avenue in New Rochelle around 10:45am Friday morning forcing all the residents of the building out into the cold streets. First units on the scene reported fire out the windows on the second floor.A 2 alarm was called and M/A aid was brought into the city from Yonkers and Eastchester. The fire was declared under control at 11:27 am.
Update- New Rochelle YMCA has offered there building as a warming place. New Rochelle police brought a bus to the scene so residents can stay warm.
Con Edison is on the scene and New Rochelle fire department is calling in off duty members to staff extra manpower.
