NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The 8th Annual Spirit of Deborah Conference for Christian women leaders and the men who support them, will be held on Saturday April 5, 2014 from 9:00am until 3:00pm. The conference will convene at Mt. Carmel AME, 78 Grove Ave. , New Rochelle , NY 10801 where Rev. Brenda Ford is the Pastor.
The theme of this year’s conference is, Preparing Women Leaders in Ministry, Business and the Arts. The Spirit of Deborah Conference is taken from the 5th Chapter of the Book of Judges in the Bible. This chapter focuses on the Hebrew leader Deborah who ruled over Israel during a time when women in leadership positions were not culturally accepted.
“We currently live in a time where women must be prepared to lead, to minister and to serve, this conference will prepare women to be able to achieve their destinies in Christ.” said Dr. Naima Johnston Bush, Spirit of Deborah Conference founder and visionary. Dr. Naima Johnston Bush is a National Christian Recording Artist, dynamic minister, author and educator whose ministry has taken her across the nation and allowed her to share the stage with great artists such as: Karen Clark Sheard, The Last Poets, and Ashley Cleveland.

Pisgah Turner Memorial AME Church, Leslie K. Howard of Leslie Howard Ministries and Rev. Valarie Cousin, Pastor Bridge Street, AME Church.
