BE GREATNew Rochelle, NY – For 5 consecutive years, the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle’s BE GREAT event has seen in increase in revenue generated along with total attendees. And thanks to the energy and effort of new volunteer leadership, this year’s BE GREAT event is projected to break all previous records!

Sal and Stacy PepeThe Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle is pleased to announce the appointment of Salvatore & Stacy Pepe as Honorary Chairs for BE GREAT 2014. Mr. Pepe is the President of Mercedes-Benz of New Rochelle and his dealership hosted the 2013 event in its spectacular showroom located at 77 East Main Street in New Rochelle, NY. BE GREAT is an evening that applauds the efforts of individuals and organizations that support The Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle’s mission to uplift and encourage kids. This year’s honorees are:

A GREAT Educator: Beth Weinberg
A GREAT Business: PM Pediatrics

The evening also includes dancing, food samplings from local restaurants and a silent auction of goods and services. “My wife and I are thrilled to serve as this year’s Honorary Chairs for the BE GREAT event, says Mr. Pepe. Words cannot convey how impressed we are with the staff and volunteers of the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle. The organization does so much to empower young people to become leaders and positive role models. I witnessed this firsthand while interacting with a young man I met during last year’s BE GREAT event. He immediately stood out as a leader and it was obvious that the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle was instrumental in his personal development and strong character.”

BE GREAT offers a number of sponsorship and advertising opportunities that area businesses will find incredibly appealing. The sponsorship levels range from $300 to $10,000. Advertising rates for the Commemorative Journal start at $75. “From its inception, our community’s generosity towards the BE GREAT event has shown no end and for that we are most grateful said Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle Board President, Candace Pinn. None of the initiatives we undertake could happen without it. Monies raised from this year’s event support the myriad of daily programs offered by the Club to local children.

Events this successful cannot happen without strong leaders and the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle finds itself blessed with just that. Jaime Deutsch, Evelyn Gonzalez, Diane Luftig and Fran Nordquist are Co-Chairs for the 2014 BE GREAT event. Sonya Brown, Gina Egan, Jill Frey, Kelli Galloway, Erin Gilligan, Debbie Handler, Marilyn Morris, Anne Marie Nascimento, Roberta Neumann, Cindy Ostrager, Candace Pinn, Judith Redlener, Karin Sadow, Michelle Sanchez-Boyce, Janet Stevens, Diane Tukman and Melanie Williams are members of the 2014 BE GREAT Planning Committee.

Since 1929, the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle has provided a safe, structured and positive environment for children. The organization is also charged with helping kids develop the attitudes, skills, values and behaviors that enable them to succeed in life.
