RichardStPaul2WHITE PLAINS, NY — Former New Rochelle Council Member Richard St. Paul was named one of Westchester County’s best and brightest by The Business Council of Westchester. St. Paul will be honored with the 2014 “Rising Star” Award.

This year’s winners represent a wide-range of professionals from various backgrounds including law, government, media, politics, education and the arts. The honorees are among the finest young talents in Westchester County and work with some of the region’s best companies and institutions.

With more than 100 nominations this year, the selections were competitive. Maria Freburg, senior vice president at Webster Bank, is chair of the Rising Stars program. Freburg received the 40 Under 40 honor in 2011.

Tara Rosenblum of News12 Westchester is returning as the event’s emcee. Rosenblum has more than 100 major industry awards, including 8 Emmy awards and 35 Emmy nominations. In 2014, she was the most nominated reporter in the state and broke an Emmy record for garnering the most individual craft reporter categories in award history. Rosenblum earned “40 Under 40” honors in 2007.

“We are delighted to honor these great talents in Westchester County,” said Dr. Marsha Gordon, President and CEO of the Business Council of Westchester. “And we are so pleased to once again have Tara Rosenblum as our Master of Ceremonies.”

The winners will receive their Rising Star award during a ceremony on June 12 at 800 Westchester Avenue, White Plains. The awards program is modeled after the national business recognition program “Forty under Forty” and Rising Stars is specifically designed to recognize individuals under the age of 40 who exemplify leadership, foresight and a vision for the future of Westchester County.
