Joan M. Heppes

Joan M. Heppes, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on July 14, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was 83.
 Joan was born on March 13, 1931 in New Rochelle to the late Matthew and Jane (Comerford) Murphy. She worked for over 30 years at the Salesian Missions and was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus.
 
 She is survived by her beloved husband Charles whom she married on October 20, 1956; her sons Kevin (Kathy)Heppes and Brian Heppes; her daughter Ellen (Andy) Stievfvater ; her five granddaughters who were the light of her life; Sarah, Cubby, Maggie, Lauren and Leann; her sister Ann Rich, and her brother Matthew Murphy, and her lifelong friend Dorothy Knapp. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Murphy and her sisters Patricia Heilenday and Jacqueline Callaghan. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and close co-workers at Salesian.
 
 Visiting will be Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday 9:30am at Holy Name Church. Interment will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salesian Missions, 2 LeFevre La., New Rochelle.
