NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Police countywide are looking for a silver Porsche Cayenne, Florida tags, CWKR-33 after a man driving in New Rochelle was forced out of his vehicle at gunpoint around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night. The incident occurred on the corner of Weyman Avenue and Elm Street, according to a statement taken by New Rochelle police from the victim.
The victim told New Rochelle police that three people in a Black Lexus followed him from Pelham Road and Weyman Avenue onto Elm Street and Weyman Avenue. Stopped at the traffic light at Elm Street, two male hispanics exited the Black Lexus and approached the Porsche. One of the suspects came to the drivers side of the Porsche with a gun drawn, pointed at the victim’s head and ordered him out of the vehicle.
Once in possession of the victim’s vehicle, the suspects feld the scene in both vehicles, up Elm Street, turning onto Neptune Avenue.
The victim told police he heard one of the suspects say “95 North”.
The victim also told officers he heard shots fired as the car fled up Elm.
After the incident, the victim went to homes in the area, banging on doors, asking homeowners on Weyman Avenue to call police.
New Rochelle police responded, located the victim, put out a countywide hotline on the victim’s car and set up two crime scenes, one on Elm Street from Neptune Avenue to Weyman Avenue and the other at Morgan Street to Emmett Terrace on Weyman Avenue. Police were unable to verify that a shooting had taken place — there were no reports of shots fired from neighbors and no shell casings were found.
UPDATE: At 7:05 a.m. Monday morning, New Rochelle Police got a call from a person on Neptune Avenue reporting spent shell casings on and around one Neptune Avenue. Additional shell casings found just across the street, near 245 Elm Street.
New Rochelle police are back on scene searching the area for more shell casings.
