Friends Of New Rochelle Public Library To Hold Big Book Sale

Written By: Talk of the Sound News

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Over the summer, residents brought thousands of gently used books to the Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library, whose dedicated volunteers have processed the donations and now have them ready to sell — all at very affordable prices. On Friday, September 5th and Saturday, September 6th, from 9:00 am — 3:00 pm, the public may select from a wide range of hardcover and paperback books, CDs, dvds, and more, when the Friends of NRPL’s conduct their monthly Big Book Sale.

The Friends will also be holding Mini Book Sales every Saturday, September 13th – 27th and every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the month, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. These Mini-Sales are in place of the Friends Book Store hours and are the result of the library’s elevator being out of commission, which prevents the Friends from carting books up and down from their warehouse in the library basement.

The executive board of the Friends of the Library, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, coordinates the book sale, with the assistance of other Friends’ volunteers. Money realized from book sales are used to underwrite the Library’s extensive public programs. The Friends welcome prospective volunteers.
