NEW ROCHELLE, NY — As part of Fire Prevention Month, New Rochelle Firefighters gladly accepted an invitation to spend a morning with children and parents at the local Home Depot. Our members’ presentation touched on the importance of smoke detectors with working batteries, home evacuation plans and drills, and calling 911 immediately in an emergency.
The highlight was one of the brothers interacting with the kids while dressed in full protective gear to prepare them for the potentially frightening sights and sounds of being rescued in a real emergency.
