NEW ROCHELLE, NY — County Executive Robert P. Astorino has announced that the 15th annual Senior Law Day will take place on Oct. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the County Center in White Plains. The free event will feature 17 workshops on elder law topics, plus free 15-minute, one-on-one consultations with some of the county’s leading legal, financial and geriatric care experts.
“Education matters, and that is what Senior Law Day is all about,” Astorino said. “No senior should miss out on this great opportunity.”
Workshops will cover everything from financial planning and health care to affordable housing, taxes, wills, trusts, and much more. New this year will be special help with long-term care insurance. Workshops will be presented in Spanish on Medicare and estate planning.
Senior Law Day builds upon the county’s award-winning Livable Communities initiative, which aims to empower Westchester’s older adults to remain in their homes as they age with dignity and independence.
Senior Law Day is presented by Westchester County’s Department of Senior Programs and Services, the Westchester Public/Private Partnership for Aging Services and the Ninth Judicial District of the New York State Office of Court Administration.
