NEW ROCHELLE, NY — For the second time this season, senior Samantha Gomez (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) has been named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office.
Gomez finished her career with a trip to the finals in Singles Flight No. 3 of the HVIAC Championships this weekend. In the semifinals, Gomez defeated Alexandra Kadyakina of Berkeley College 8-2 earning two points for the Blue Angels before moving on to the final round. Gomez fought her way through the final match, but fell to Sarah Conant of Pratt Institute, who would later be crowned overall champions.
