NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Jeanne Zaino, Ph.D., professor of Political Science and International Studies at Iona College, is serving as a political contributor for Al Jazeera America (AJAM) for the midterm election season. Dr. Zaino began appearing on AJAM when the news channel premiered in August of 2013.
Since then Dr. Zaino has appeared as a guest on several of the channels key programs including Real Money with Ali Velshi and been interviewed by several of the networks reporters, including David Schuster, Stephanie Sy, Del Walters, Libby Casey, and others. In her role as a political contributor Dr. Zaino has been appearing on both the networks morning and evening newscasts to discuss a wide variety of issues ranging from turnout and ballot initiatives to the state of the economy and the impact of negative advertising.
On Election night, Dr. Zaino will be appearing as part of the networks “America Votes 2014” special alongside AJAM’s prime time news anchor and former NBC news anchor John Seigenthaler.
“I am looking forward to covering the returns as they come in and helping to put the results into a broader perspective. AJAM has an amazing team and I’m honored to be a part of their inaugural election night coverage,” said Dr. Zaino.
In January of 2013 Al Jazeera Media Network announced the purchase of Current TV and AJAM was created. Headquartered in New York City, AJAM has bureaus in cities across the nation and employs hundreds of journalists and staff.
