The College of New Rochelle’s Tayler Fisher and Jenean Igmat have been selected as Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Cross Country All-Independent Honorable Mention, it was announced by the conference office. This marks the first time two Blue Angel runners have been recognized with end of year honors by a conference.
Fisher (Wilmington, DE/Conrad School of Science) has been named All-Independent in each of her three season running for the Blue Angels and earns this recognition after a junior campaign that saw her break her own school record for 5K with time of 20:41 at the Bard Invitational. The team’s top runner since she stepped on campus, her season was derailed by a hamstring injury but she displayed true leadership at the HVIAC Championships, completing the course to ensure a scoring team. Fisher was twice named AD3I Runner of the Week.
Igmat (New Milford, NJ/New Milford) was the Blue Angels’ #2 runner all season, and took over the lead role after Fisher’s injury. A one-time AD3I Runner of the Week honoree, she posted a personal best 5K time of 21:34 at the Bard Invitational, the fourth fastest time in school history. She adds this honor to the HVIAC All-Conference recognition she earned previously.
