NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Children ages 5 and up are invited to create presents for holiday giving at the BID Family Day “Make a Gift to Give” Workshop on Saturday, December 6th, from 2:00 – 2:30 pm, at the New Rochelle Public Library. The BID Family Saturdays’ staff from New Rochelle schools, the Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Library, along with teen assistants, will help children ages 5 and older use their creativity to make three lovely presents to give to family and friends this holiday season. Participants may paint a wooden picture frame, make a soup-mix-in-a-jar, create a beaded necklace, or select from numerous other projects to complete and bring home. A “Wrap it Up!” station will provide gift wrapping and tags for each of the creations. The program is free and participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.
“BID Family Days” is a partnership of the New Rochelle Downtown BID (Business Improvement District) with the New Rochelle Public Library, the City School District, and the Department of Parks & Recreation. For more information, call the library’s Community Relations office, (914) 632-8254.
