NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Talk of the Sound is compiling New York State data on teacher and principal performance known as “APPR” data. Our goal is to build a database so that parents and guardians can look up the data online.
The main problem with the APPR data made available under the current law is that parents and guardians can only request data for the current year. What many people really want to know is who their children(s) are getting next year.
If you are a parent or guardian of a child in the District you can help “pay it forward” by helping us collect data that other parents will use next year — and other parents will do the same for you for next year.
Simply complete the form(s) below, present it at your child’s school(s) and the school will send you the APPR report for your child. Once you have the report send it along to Talk of the Sound via email at robertcox@talkofthesound.com or 173 Mount Joy Place, New Rochelle, NY 10801.

Be forewarned that some school officials are going to try to convince you that the information contained in the reports is “confidential” and may not be disclosed to anyone including the media and especially Talk of the Sound. Baloney!
This “confidentiality” claim as it applies to parents and guardians is absolutely false. There are restrictions on the New York State Education Department and restrictions on local school districts — but there are no restrictions on what a parent or guardian does with the data they obtain from the school.
