NORWALK, CT — The Ursuline School won “Facebook Favorite” on the Norwalk Maritime Aquarium at “Festival of Lighthouses Contest”.
In the 13 years of the contest, this was the first “social media” vote. Over 1,000 votes were cast for the Ursuline submission.
Team members Quinn Murphy, Maeve Hughes, Emily Herrmann and Claire Dillon are all students in the school’s Intro to Engineering course taught by Silvio Monacelli.
The school received a $500 award at a ceremony on January 22nd at the Norwalk Maritime Aquarium. The prize money will be re-invested in the engineering program.
The aquarium staff praised the four Ursuline students demonstrated knowledge of marine life in creating “Gerald the Anglerfish.”
