NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its first Region Athletes and Coaches of the Year awards for the 2015 indoor track and field season, as voted by NJCAA coaches.
Assistant Track & Field coach Shirvon Greene, now in his eighth year at Monroe, was named the Atlantic Region’s Assistant Coach of the Year in both the men’s and women’s categories.
Monroe Mustang Ronaldo Ball, who is entering the National Championship this weekend ranked number-one in the Men’s 1000m event, was named Atlantic Region’s Men’s Track Athlete of the Year. Ball set personal bests this season and broke previous Monroe records.
22 student athletes from Monroe will attend the 2015 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championship, including the 4×400 relay and distance medley relay teams that have risen to top-ten national rankings.
