Rosie Clarke Represents Iona At NCAA Indoor Track Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, AR- Iona College women’s indoor track junior Rosie Clarke will represent the Maroon & Gold at the 2015 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships this Friday and Saturday at the University of Arkansas’ Randal Tyson Track Center. Clarke competes in the women’s mile event.

The distance runner has enjoyed a breakout winter campaign for the Gaels earning big-race experience against world class athletes at both the Millrose Games last month and the European Indoor Championships last week. Clarke ran a school record time in the Wanamaker mile at the Millrose Games completing the race in 4:31.78. She was sixth in the 1500-meter race at the Euro Championships, competing for Great Britain. Clarke competes in her second NCAA championship of the 2014-15 school year following a 60th place performance at the Cross Country event in November.

The two-round women’s mile championship begins with the semifinals Friday (Mar. 13) at 7:00 pm ET (6:00 pm locally) while the final round is Saturday (Mar. 14) at 7:00 pm ET. Both events can be seen live on ESPN3. A tape delay of the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships airs Monday, Mar. 23 at 7:00 pm on ESPNU.
