NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The College of New Rochelle hosted SUNY Canton in its softball home opener on Saturday at Flowers Park. The Blue Angels dropped both games of the doubleheader to the Roos.

In the opener, Canton raced out to a big lead, scoring the game’s first 18 runs before CNR plated two in the bottom of the third. The Blue Angels took advantage of three walks, using three steals, a wild pitch and a passed ball to score twice, with Katy Baudendistel and Kevona Jackson crossing the plate for CNR.

The second game saw Jackson lead the Blue Angel offense by going two-for-two at the plate as Canton won the game, 41-0. Both games were played with steady flurries falling.

The College of New Rochelle returns to action on Tuesday, April 7, hosting Sarah Lawrence College for a doubleheader at Flowers Park. The first game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM.
