NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Lucia Mele-Hansen, a police officer for the City of New Rochelle, died today at the age of 40.
Her husband, John Hansen, is also a New Rochelle police officer. They were married on April 9, 2010.
Mele-Hansen, is a former longtime resident of New Rochelle who lived in Mahopac.
Lucia Mele-Hansen was born on September 30, 1974 in New Rochelle to Domenico and Maria (Benedetto) Mele. In addition to her husband; she is survived by her mother Maria; her siblings Anna Bruno and Antonio Mele, and five nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Domenico on August 9, 2014.
Visiting hours will be on Saturday 4-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc. 16 Shea Pl. New Rochelle, NY. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday at 10:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Cremation to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
