ALBANY, NY — The Thruway Authority has announced that there will be overnight lane closures and brief stoppages in both directions on the New England Thruway (I-95) between exit 16 (New Rochelle – North Ave. – Cedar St.) and exit 15 (New Rochelle – US Route 1) for the removal of an existing sign structure, which is part of the $58.7 million I-95 New England Thruway concrete pavement restoration project.
The single lane closures will begin on Tuesday, April 14 at 11:00 p.m. and conclude by 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15. Overnight single lane closures will continue between Wednesday night, April 15 at 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16.
Periodic stops of all traffic of no more than 20 minutes will also take place between 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, April 14 and 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 15. Traffic stoppages will continue at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 until 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16.
The work is weather dependent and may be postponed in the event of inclement weather.
Variable Message Boards (VMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR – 530 AM) will update motorists about expected delays in this particular area.
