PATCHOGUE, NY – In a double header played at Briarcliffe College, the host Bulldogs swept The College of New Rochelle in non-conference play.

In the opener, Briarcliffe jumped out to an early, 10-0, lead, and did not allow the Blue Angel offense to get untracked, allowing just one base runner over the five inning game.  Bulldog starting pitcher Heidi Gomez faced one over the minimum while striking out 13.  Rita Saad was the lone CNR batter to reach base, as she drew a walk with one out in the top of the fifth.

Briarcliffe maintained its momentum in the nightcap, plating nine runs over the first two frames en route to the 11-0 victory.  Caitlin Harrison recorded the Blue Angels’ one hit on the afternoon, singling in the fourth inning.

CNR in next in action on Tuesday, April 14, hosting York (NY) College at Flowers City Park.  The non-conference double header is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM.
