NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A dump truck swerved off the road on Main Street in New Rochelle, jumping a sidewalk and crashing into a tire store. No injuries were reported.
The driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle, striking the building at 24 East Main Street, the Mallory-Kotzen Tire store. Three other vehicles were damaged. A fire hydrant was struck and knocked over.
One neighbor said it sounded like a building collapsed.
New Rochelle first responders arrived on the scene moments later, with police blocking off traffic and firefighters removing broken glass from the storefront.
