LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ- The Iona College men’s track and field team competed in the Rider Inviational hosted by Rider University this past weekend. The team posted five personal best times in five separate events.
The top performers on the men’s side were junior Xavier King, sophomore Andy Adamovics, and senior Otis Ubriaco, who finished first, second, and third respectively in the 1,500 meter race. King crossed the finish line at 4:01.66, and the three Gael competitors all finished less than a second behind him. For King, his 1500m time of 4:01.66 is a new personal best. He also ran the 800 meter race and finished 6th with a time of 1:56.59.
Graduate Reed Kochanek ran the 400 meter race with a blazing time of 51.88, also a new personal best.
The Gaels next compete on Thursday (April 16) at the Mt. SAC Invite in Walnut, California.
