NEW YORK, NY – In an single game played on Randall’s Island, York College slipped past The College of New Rochelle, 12-4, this afternoon in non-conference action.
The Blue Angels produced all of their scoring output in the top of the first, scoring four runs on one hit, taking advantage of two Cardinal errors and three walks. Lyndsey Edwards, Jah-Leah Ellis and Lee-Anne Daley each tallied a RBI for CNR in the inning.
The lead was held over the next four innings, until a five run bottom of the sixth gave York an 8-4 lead. The Cardinals scored four more times in the bottom of the sixth to close out the game.
Edwards accounted for two of CNR’s three hits, while Sheila Conde allowed five earned runs while going the distance in the circle. She tallied eight strikeouts while allowing just four hits
