Daring Daylight Home Invasion in East New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE – New Rochelle Police made one arrest and are looking for three other suspects in a brazen daylight home invasion on Stephenson Boulevard near East Main Street. Police were able to pull a license plate off a surveillance video for a red truck which served as the getaway vehicle.

The call came into police at 3:46 p.m. for an incident that the victim had occurred 20 minutes earlier, shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Two suspects engaged the homeowner, a 78 year-old man, in a discussion about blacktopping his driveway. While he was distracted two other suspects entered the rear of the house, two-family house behind Pow Burger.

A preliminary sweep of the homeowner’s portion of the house did not show signs of entry and initially the call was listed as an attempted robbery. When the tenants of the other portion of the house came back to the scene and allowed detectives entry, police found the apartment had been entered and distributed. The call was upgraded to a home invasion.
