NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Free summer library programs for children ages six months to 5 years are being offered at the main New Rochelle Public Library and the Huguenot Children’s Library (HCL) beginning Monday, July 6 through Friday, August 14. All programs are on a drop-in basis, first-come, first-served.
Bouncing Babies, a Mother Goose program of songs, music, movement and a story for children 6 – 24 months, will be held on Thursdays, July 9 – August 13, from 9:30 –10:00 in the children’s room of the main library and from 11:45 am – 12:15 pm at the HCL.
Let’s Pretend, for children ages 3 – 5 years, introduces theater through games, songs, nursery rhymes, and an on-stage experience. Instructor Nora Maher leads the program on Thursdays, July 9 – August 13, from 10:15 am – 11:00 am at the Main Library, and from 12:30 pm – 1:15 pm at HCL.
3, 4 & 5s for children ages 3 – 5 years, includes stories, songs, and a take-home craft, and takes place on Mondays, July 6 – August 10, from 10:00 – 10:45 am at the Main Library. Sessions will be held at HCL, on Tuesdays, July 7 – August 11, from 10:00 – 10:45 am.
Preschool Fun & Fitness takes place on Mondays, July 6 – August 10, 1:00 – 2:00 pm, in the Main Library Meeting Room. Children ages 2 – 5 and their parent, grandparent or caregiver, are invited to join the health & fitness team from Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital’s Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Services for a fun-filled hour of movement, games and healthy eating and lifestyle tips. Bedtime Stories, for children ages 3 – 5 years, (pajamas and stuffed animals are encouraged), will be held on six Thursdays, July 9 – August 13, from 6:30 – 7:00 pm, at the Main Library.
Every Wednesday, at 10:30 am, aLive Show alternating with Films from Picture Books will be featured in the Ossie Davis Theater. The first performance, by Juggles the Clown, will take place on Wednesday, July 8. These are appropriate for children ages 2 – 5 years.
