NEW ROCHELLE, NY –Metered parking payments just got easier in the City of New Rochelle thanks to recent upgrades by LAZ Parking. Using Cale America and Parkmobile technologies, new terminals and mobile applications featuring “find my car software” will enable parking patrons in the downtown area to pay and extend parking not only at “smarter” machines but also through their mobile devices. The rollout will begin in mid-June and will modernize all major City lots including the Intermodal Transportation Center, New Roc Garage, and Library lots.
This service modernization begins with a “Pay by Plate” program. Parking patrons will now enter their license plate number (and parking lot zone number at the larger lots) instead of the space number. Parkers can then pay by cell and also pay violations right at the meter on the same day they are issued, instead of mailing in their ticket and payment.
“The innovative technologies we are implementing with Parkmobile and Cale America will create a completely new parking experience for the City” said Eric Siskind, LAZ Parking’s Regional Vice President overseeing New York and New Jersey. “We look forward to providing a better, faster, greener, and overall easier parking experience for everyone who parks in New Rochelle.”
“This is an important step forward in our efforts to provide the best possible experience for our downtown and its visitors,” said New Rochelle Commissioner of Development Luiz Aragon. “New Rochelle is your ideal destination in Westchester.”
The parking upgrades will be rolled out in the middle of June, in conjunction with LAZ Parking’s Customer Appreciation Days. Parking ambassadors will be on hand to assist parking patrons with the new systems.
