NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Iona College golf team finished in 12th place at the Rutgers Invitational. The Gaels shot a team score of 301 (+26), their second best performance of the three round event.
A trio of Maroon and Gold team members tied for the best score of the tournament’s final day. Sophomore Kevin Kramarksi, junior Brian Fitzpatrick, and freshman Devin Delisle each registered a score of 75 (+4). Junior Stefan Cygan finished just one shot behind at with a scorecard reading 76.
The top individual performer for the Gaels was Kramarksi, tying for 15th overall with a score of 216 (+3). Desisle also finished within the top 50, sitting tied at 38th, shooting a +12 total of 225.
The Towson Tigers won the Rutgers Invitational at 14-under; they won the event by 20 strokes over the second place Scarlett Knights.
Iona’s next contest will be overseas at the Island GC in Donabate, Ireland. The Gaels will take part in the three-day Iona-UCD Challenger’s Cup, starting on Tuesday, Sep. 29.
