NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The #1 ranked men’s soccer team pushed its unbeaten streak to four with a 2-0 blanking of Montgomery County College from Rockville, Maryland on Saturday. The team is now 3-0-1 on the season.
The team got off to a good start and had a strong effort despite terrible field conditions. The back line played well, led by Khadim Seye, Pedro Neto and Gonzalvo Rodriguez. They combined with Robert Ekroll to earn the third clean sheet of the season for the Knights.
The offensive stars of the game were Evan Finnegan and Mamadou Balde. Finnegan scored on a chip shot from 40-yards out. He caught the opposing keeper sleeping on a free kick and flicked the ball over his head. Finnegan also put a ball into the box that Balde lept and got a head on to account for the other goal in the game.
The Mustangs return home on Tuesday, September 15 when they host Harcum College from City Park. The kickoff for that game is slated for 7:00 PM.
