NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Monroe College football team fell to Nassau Community College 74-7, in a game played at Mitchell Field in Uniondale, New York, on Saturday. The Mustangs are now 1-1 on the year.
The Mustangs scored their touchdown on a fourth-quarter drive. The drive was eight plays, 36 yards and took 3:04 of game time. Asante Anthony had four rushes and a touchdown in the drive. Aaron Williams completed a pass to Chris Lessard and also converted a fourth-and-six with a 12-yard run. Elio Rodriguez convereted the extra point.
Donte Carter led Monroe with 35 rushing yards. Anthony had 31 yards on the ground in addition to his touchdown. On defense, Christian Perez had five tackles (three for loss) and a sack. Daivon Nixon also had five stops.
The Monroe College football team returns to action on Saturday, September 19, when they host ASA at Fosina Field in New Rochelle. Kickoff for that game is 5:30 PM.
